Jusqu'ici, la seule manière de faire pivoter les écrans sur MacOs X était d'acheter une carte ATI du commerce, special mac edition, livrée avec un soft ATI nommé Versavision. On sait que les cartes ATI card montées d'origine dans les Macs actuels ne permettent pas cette fonction.
or je viens de lire sur le site de news MacBidouille, qu'Apple a apparemment fait à Nexpo 2005 la démonstration que Tiger supporterait le pivotage.
Il ne serait plus nécessaire de changer de carte vidéo. Juste se procurer un bras de montage (d'une autre marque) pour permettre la rotation physique de l'écran.
Lisez l'article avec photos. En particulier, un coup d'oeil plus précis sur la saisie d'un écran montre le pourcentage de rotation souhaité.

So far the only way to pivot screens was to purchase a ATI video card, special mac edition, delivered with an ATI software named Versavision. We know that the ATI card that is included in the current Macs does NOT do the job.
Now, I've just read, on a Mac news site (MacBidouille), that Apple showed at Nexpo 2005 some indications that Tiger may support pivoting.
No need for a special card anymore, it seems.
Just for Apple screens, a third party mounting stand would be necessary to put the screen in any position.
Look at this article in French and photos. A closer look at the screenshot of the software clearly shows the degrees of pivoting.

Wow! quelle bonne nouvelle si ça se confirme! J'ai récemment fait l'achat d'un moniteur Samsung SyncMaster 213T qui pivote très facilement de sur son socle, malheureusement je ne peux pas en tirer profit si je ne change pas de carte graphique.

Sur le même site, une photo d'un écran Samsung SyncMaster 213T en mode portrait, avec Tiger sur un 15" alu-powerbook. Pas besoin de changer la carte vidéo apparemment. Résolution : 1200x1600.

Je l'ai installé (Tiger) le weekend dernier et ça fonctionne très bien. J'ai par contre lu que certains macs plus anciens ne supporteraient pas cette fonction.
Préférence système --> moniteurs --> pivoter (90, 180 ou270 degrés)

Je confirme qu'avec Tiger, on peut faire pivoter l'écran. Très pratique en effet pour nous. Mais le problème est qu'Edinote, qui vient de me vendre mon update, me dit : « Surtout, restez en 10.3.9 ! »
